Figma Shares Surge 31% Following OpenAI Integration Announcement

Figma's stock soared nearly 31% this week after OpenAI CEO Sam Altman demonstrated seamless integration between the design platform and ChatGPT. The AI chatbot, now boasting over 800 million users, will enable direct access to Figma's tools without leaving the conversational interface.

Altman revealed users can verbally command ChatGPT to execute Figma functions, such as converting sketches into diagrams. Figma product manager Luke Zhang confirmed AI-generated FigJam whiteboards will be creatable through natural language prompts, with file uploads influencing outputs.
